How buyers specify night latches & rim locks
A rim night latch is the lock a distributor buys for apartment and residential entrance doors that are already hung: it mounts on the face of the door through one cylinder hole. The 25 models here are made in our own factory for wholesale and private-label orders.
What backset and door thickness do they take?
- Backset across the range is 40–60mm and the door thickness range is 30–60mm; both figures are on each model's specification table, and a 60mm backset is the most common.
Single cylinder, double cylinder or self-locking?
- All three functions are in the range: Single cylinder, double cylinder or self-locking, Double cylinder, double throw. Single-cylinder versions open from inside without a key; double-cylinder versions need a key on both sides; self-locking versions latch as the door closes.
Can they be keyed alike for a block of flats?
- Keyed-alike groups and master-key systems are quoted per project. Send the door schedule with the inquiry; the cylinders are cut before shipment, and the keying plan has to be decided before the order is confirmed.
What do you need from me to quote?
- The model numbers or a drawing, the finish, the quantity per model and the destination port. Minimum order and lead time are confirmed per line; most models fall between 300 and 5,000 pieces, and production starts at 30 days from order confirmation. Samples are available before a production order.
