Finish code converter. A BHMA number names the metal underneath as well as the color.
US26D is satin chrome, and it is two BHMA numbers: 626 on a brass or bronze base, 652 on steel. 630 is not plated at all; it is solid satin stainless. Charts that print two columns lose that, and a submittal that asked for 626 and received 652 is a substitution.
The converter only answers where the equivalence is exact. A house code that does not say satin or polished, or a finish with no A156.18 number, comes back with the reason rather than the nearest guess.

| BHMA | US | Our code | Base metal | Finish |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 626 | US26D | SC | Brass or bronze | Satin Chromium plated |
| 652 | US26D | SC | Steel | Satin Chromium plated |
Two rows: the same appearance on two base metals. Say which base on the order.
BHMA A156.18
Zinc alloy and aluminum have no base designation in A156.18, so a zinc-alloy part has no BHMA number however close its color comes.

Our order codes put the finish after the model number, so 587 SSBK is model 587 in SS with function BK. The order-code page lists every finish code we use, including the ones whose expansion we still confirm per order.
