Tool
Door handing finder. Stand outside, look at the hinges, watch which way it swings.
ANSI/BHMA stands you outside, on the side you would use a key from, names the hinge side and adds reverse when the leaf swings toward you. DIN stands you on the side the door opens toward and names the hinge side. The same door can be right hand in one and DIN left in the other, and nobody has made a mistake.
So the safest field on an order is the description underneath the letters. It reads the same in every language and every convention.
ANSI/BHMA A156.115: LH. DIN: DIN right.

Where the hand still matters
Almost everything we sell is reversible or non-handed, so the lock rarely changes with the hand. The opening still decides which side the strike is cut, where the closer arm goes, and which leaf of a pair is active. Record the hand, name the convention beside it.
